This was before bookstagram was really a thing and before indie publishing became popular. I had no idea what I was doing. I spent hours researching, reading articles and learning how to do everything on my own. But I didn’t connect with anyone. I didn’t have anyone to ask questions. I didn’t have a following built up for the release. Sure, I had my family and a few friends. But I didn’t feel like I knew other writers who were going through what I was. Now, I do. Now, every time I publish, the first thing I do is connect with other authors and readers online.
