I was running after a student of mine who was eloping and I TRIPPED and didn’t quite wipe completely out but ALMOST did. But it was effective either way because little dude heard me stumbling, stopped, turned around to look at me like this 🤨

While i understand, sometimes it’s fight or flight. I’m trying to save someone’s baby and parents are happy that someone did what they could to prevent injury or worse.

my 7yo has started wanting to chase his school bus to the end of our street after he gets off it. he's recreating a scene from the spongebob movie and it's an itch he has to scratch but it's so dangerous

My mom would always just say okay bye. And as soon as I realized I was alone I’d go back. When she chased me it made me keep going because I didn’t understand and just thought we were running together. Ik this isn’t a solution for dangerous situations but it’s definitely worth a try for less serious situations.

When my son was younger he would try to elope alot and it usually ended with him getting put on my shoulder while I was yelling "potato sack!" it would immediately cause him to start giggling and laughing and completely redirect him.
