I was just having this conversation with a friend yesterday! Tangible and thoughtful creation and craftsmanship is a precious thing. We have to keep the heart and soul alive.💛

Honestly I think gen z is very aware of quality of fast fashion as well as environmental impact. I hold on to the fact that if millennials continue talking and sharing info about what has made quality of life worse, future gens will be more intentional. Also vintage shops have been more popular than I realized, so many have popped up. Also physical media is having a renaissance as well as piracy. I have hope!

This thought makes me ILL. This is why I try to document and make my life tangible…. And it is hard. My favorite thing is admiring the physical evidence of culture 💔

actually tho! back in the 80’s & 70’s brands use to release “collections” of clothing. so a few distinct pieces that people could buy for the season. fast fashion has completely erased that practice

I learned my lesson to print photos when I realize I have no photos of me in college after I deleted my MySpace two lifetimes ago. I also started to sew my own clothes.

I started to print my photos off my phone. I'm so thankful to have tangible memories of my dad who recently passed as well as my passed on kitties.

We have the responsibility to take care of it all well so when we pass on things can stay in circulation - legacy of tending things well despite collapse, and leaving things better and passing things on for the people who come next. Relearning trades and mending and repair techniques
