@ocskinlab: I love how when a physician tries to order tests to help patients we have insurance to let us know what is "medically necessary". Their training must be more extensive than my medical school, internship, residency, fellowship, 4 licensing exams, 2 board certifications and 10 years of attending practice. Overall amount of time spent that was both uncompensated and kept me from caring for other patients: 35 minutes #dermatology #healthcare #universalhealthcare #healthinsurance #medicare

Why aren’t you calling Medicare?? LabCorp is just the middle man. You’re shooting the messenger.

There’s no way they are in South Carolina lmao. I’ve worked call centers for 9 years and I can tell 💯 they are offshore, in the Philippines.

I know this isnt your point.... BUT a screening code like screening for metabolic disorder usually gets VTD covered.🥰

Charging more to "Insured" patients is why insurance premiums are out of control. The patients who actually pay for health insurance are subsidizing the uninsured.

This is a frequent convo I have with the lab that starts with a Q and Medicare will not cover vitamin D. Kind of weird because we all have low vitamin D.

So my oncologist ordered a test on my tumor in my kidney that I had removed last year…..I had just gotten a $3700 bill from the company that did the testing. I did not sign anything saying I’d pay or have a choice whether the test was ordered or not they keep billing me and I was obviously surprised with the huge bill passed onto me. Idk what to do. My doctor was confused as to why I got a bill too.

All doctors have to do is go to the CMS website and look up, search for what ICD-10 codes will be covered for the test that you ordered. do that before you send in the claims.

I check the CMS website for covered codes for each test. There are some that cover with codes you would never expect. They do cover vitamin d for patients with bmi, hyperlipidemia, and others. Look at the website and submit as many as qualify for that test it will cover. I'm a medical assistant and look it up for my Dr all the time

Those are non-specific codes and most all insurances will deny.
