I disagree. I loved how she handled it. He's a stranger at the end of the day. She clocked his substance dependence AND his lying tendencies. Good for her. Also, it was two 6 packs + half a bottle of tequila 🤨

He’s Russian. I’ve seen them drink. They inhale alcohol then do backflips. I’m sure he has a high tolerance. Also, he’s not a dangerous drunk or we’d have heard about it by now. She’s just building her paper trail to justify her “No” at the Altar. Though I do believe he’s set on being married, so he’s not really speaking up for himself as much as he should. It’s his experience too.

No. He gaslit her and said she drank them. He lied and said he didn’t drink any. And then okay we just had a couple. And then suddenly 24 drinks and half a bottle of liquor is gone. Lets not defend him.

Honestly what I saw was a woman who clocked his drinking problem, his denial and ambivalence about it, while not jumping in to change or save him. This would have inevitably turned into a codependent relationship. He tried to challenge her like “yeah well you don’t clean when you come home from work”, she said “correct”. She’s not in denial. She acknowledges reality that is a solvable problem, he cannot even be honest with himself. I think Ali is an awesome demonstration of what boundaries look like in a relationship.
