Aside from this situation, why would an actor care about getting an EP credit? Is there money associated with that credit? If the movie wins an Oscar for Best Picture, does the trophy go to them? Just trying to understand what the significance of that credit is.

It's funny because in the film industry, the producer/EP is usually paying for the film to get made (except for those vanity credits). While in the music industry, the producers are paid a ton and often get a royalty percentage for their creative work.

This!! It bothers me that so many outlets and podcasts who discuss this case don’t understand the whole EP thing. I listened to a Soprano’s podcast (which was amazing) and they talked a lot about EP credits being superficial. I am really surprised that with all her years of experience, Blake thought she could just step on everyone’s toes.
