my dad has og mercury fillings since the 80s. two of his molars are gone.

the tooth is actually not the dead. the procedure removes the dying nerve and or pulp of the tooth and is replaced. the tooth is actually still alive and is receiving nutrients from the surrounding gum and other teeth as well. the tooth just doesn't have a nerve.

True, after doing the root canal therapy my tooth broke into two😂😭, ended up taking it out. My front tooth at that.
