@solim_health: Sauna use of 2-4x per week could reduce dementia risk by almost 60% A long-term Finnish study followed over 2,300 middle-aged men for about 20 years to see whether sauna bathing habits were linked to dementia risk. Researchers found that men who used a sauna four to seven times a week had a 66% lower chance of developing dementia compared to those who only went once a week. The same group also showed a 65% lower risk of Alzheimer’s disease, even after accounting for factors like age, blood pressure, smoking, and physical activity. The researchers believe that regular sauna use may benefit the brain by improving blood vessel health, reducing inflammation, and supporting relaxation and heart function — all of which play roles in brain aging. However, because the study was observational and included only Finnish men, it doesn’t prove that saunas directly prevent dementia. Still, it suggests that frequent sauna bathing could be part of an overall lifestyle that supports long-term brain and heart health. #brainhealth #dementia #alzheimers
