Sounds like a bout of exercise induced hypoglycemia. As a type 1 diabetic I don’t think you probably need the 30 sour patch kids - five may do it. You just may be dropping fast and your glycogen isn’t kicking in yet and your lizard brain is saying eat eat eat! Also you’re not a diabetic. The reason we go low is because we use exogenous insulin and the balance is off. Your non t1d body has a balancing system with insulin from your pancreas and glycogen from your liver to keep blood sugars stable. T1d is found/diagnosed bc our blood sugars skyrocket bc our insulin isn’t there anymore. There are over 42 things that affect blood sugar (hormones, sleep, food, exercise, weather, altitude, stress, etc) Hope this helps!!

Sounds like you might have hypoglycemia issues. This happens to me when my blood sugar drops too fast.

Blood sugar is affected by so many things besides just sugar/carbs. Your hormones, temperature, sleep, stress, fats/protein, exercise, hydration etc. I have dealt with that my whole life with no diagnosable condition. However my oldest son was diagnosed this year with T1D. I then did continued testing for myself and my other child, including genetic testing, and still was negative. No harm in getting a glucose meter for yourself and checking! But I’m wondering if it’s a hormone imbalance or environmental change from

Look up “ocular migraines.” I am not diabetic and have experienced this. Low blood sugar can be a trigger!

This is so interesting as I have started feeling like this during workouts as well. For a minute, I thought it may be blood pressure but after reading the comments, I def need to consider blood sugar! This has also started now in my mid-30s. 🤷♀

This has happened to me my whole life. And it’s WAY worse when I’m on period. I take carbs during any workout over 90min, I know this is common for endurance sports, but maybe helpful for CrossFit too?

I don’t have diabetes (my mom does) and a few times after working out, or randomly during the day, I felt “off”. She took my blood sugar & it was low. Only happens once in a while… BUT maybe get a blood sugar machine to check if you have low blood sugar during these episodes.

Sounds like exercise induced hypoglycemia. I have reactive glycemia and the symptoms are just like this but mine is after eating.

Totally started happening to me in my mid 30’s got worse slowly. I believe it’s bc estrogen is decreasinf with age and more sensitive to carbs. I increased my protein and lowered my carbs a bit and increased fats. You may need to just adjust your macros and/or which carbs you choose.
