If you think you're not going to use the grits by expiration date after opening put it in a freezer bag get most of the air out of the bag and freeze it it will actually last for about a year

I’m from the south and we eat grits with butter, salt and pepper. You can add cheese if you like. We also cook shrimp and grits as a dinner options. Stir you grits very good or they’ll have lumps in them. Enjoy!
