It’s just an image problem. Both Dan and Mike are both eccentric play callers whose IQ is pushing the game of football in the better direction even if sometimes the choices look goofy. They were given historically bad teams. The only difference is Dan looks like a football coach and Mike doesn’t.

I am a dolphins fan. McDaniel CAN NOT be a head coach. When we fire him and he gets an offensive coordinator job somewhere else he will probably have one of the better offenses in the league. But he CAN NOT be a head coach.

A better takeaway is that great coordinators will not always make great HCs, and a lot of teams would be better off if they’d stay in their lane. Vic Fangio and Tom Moore are great examples of this, as is McDaniel

Well, the dude is not a leader. That’s a pretty big thing to be a head coach. I will say this he’s a stellar offensive coordinator and that’s probably the role he should have.

Arguably the real problem is the total lack of leadership on the field. For example, most people will argue over who was more important between belichick and Brady, but probably still agree that both were needed.
