If you are going to kill them in two hits, then it’s strictly better to double attack the first turn and kill them the second turn. It took the same amount of time to kill them, but now you have doubled attack

I always figured Attack Up would be like a 10-20% increase, barely anything, but no, ONE stage is a 50% increase. Swords Dance DOUBLES your Attack, and max stacks QUADRUPLES it

if the opponent takes 6 attacks to beat, raising your atk to 2x means it will now take 3 turns, which means 5 turns in total when you factor in the 2 turns you used to raise atk, and then now until you switch out that pokemon or it faints, it's at 2x attack
