3 parts to an apology:1: the actual sorrow at realizing you’ve made a mistake. 2. The actual apology and accountability. 3 the changed behavior to prevent that mistake from happening again. Without all three parts, it’s insincere and therefore unacceptable to me.

saying I am sorry is NOT the same as asking for forgiveness. Forgiveness comes with humility and changed behavior. “sorry” - “i’m sorry you caught me to deflect the behavior”. Wish people with understand the difference.
