"should be regulated by the community as a whole" sounds pretty democratic to me

The military is a socialist organization. In canada we have socialist programs but are a democracy.

The Founding Fathers weren’t capitalists because the term of capitalism didn’t exist yet, yet propaganda has been so effective that people think capitalism is necessary for democracy

I think non-readers get confused by the phrase “means of production.” Kinda abstract tbh

The problem is that the centralizing of the means of production through out history has generally resulted in a few things. 1) Centralizing control creates an environment where despots to also can centralize power and the democratic bodies are rendered meaningless. By far the most common. 2) With few exceptions millions and millions of people die from starvation or not wanting to give up there private property because trying to centrally manage an evonomy is hard. 3) Government bloat and the afor mentioned struggles with central management cause economic stagnation and the country softens its socialist stance aka Sweden in the 1990s and China in the 2000s. There are zero examples of a country that tried socialism that stayed free and stayed socialist.

OK, but let’s make this abundantly clear. We do not live in an unregulated capitalist economy right now. It just feels unregulated because our systems are not doing their job….. but by definition we live in a mixed economy. So people can and do own their own work and sell their own work and make money off their own work under our current system.

I would argue that democracy and capitalism are mutually exclusive bc real democracy cannot exist when the capitalists own everything including the politicians and the media

I would even argue that you can’t have Socialism without Democracy, because for any state to be controlled by a dictator means the functions of the state are not controlled by the people, and so can’t reasonably said to be owned by the people.

when i was a kid i thought the state owned apartments and was renting them to ppl who couldnt afford to buy a house. imagine my flabbers were gasted when i found out its poeple owning the apartments and putting their own prices on the apartments...
the Concept of an apartment IS amazing. something to rent fór less money than buying if you dont wanna Seattle Down. but i think the state or should own them...so be ownless? rent being payed directly to the štáte yknow like taxes are (ha). soemthing like that. or the prices be heavily regulated

What? You believe that workers should have a direct hand in the way their work is conducted, while also believing citizens should have a direct hand in how their country is conducted?
Outrageous, clearly you are a hypocrite

the DPRK is democratic tho
do you know who their president is? (he's not called "president" but he's the person that has responsibilities in the government that are comparable to the ones of a western president)
