An increase of availability for child care would allow parents to enter the work force and increasing employment, consequently helping the economy grow. Not to mention of parents are spending less on child care, it will free up cash for them to spend on other items. If we want the economy to grow the best way is to help the lower and middle class. By shear numbers when they can spend more it will push the economy faster, greater and farther than any recent supply side tax breaks. this way all classes will benefit.

I paid for childcare for my son and easily afford it. You could cut the cost pretty significantly by having some logical means test, which would be fine for me because this would have such a positive impact on families and the economy

Every time ppl ask "how would we pay for it?" This kind of reasoning is basically the answer. It is not dark magic. every other big nation does it or tries to.

Investing in the future of our country, while facing declining birth rates because of how ridiculously expensive raising a child sounds like a terrible idea.

It's infuriating that we are flushing all this money down the drain on policies that hurt us and our economy instead of helping.

Could capitalism work if we focused on yaking care of our people not just daycare? Couldn't capitalism focus on capitalizing on other countries or something? -- this is just a random thought..

I’m so proud to be from a state that IS trying to figure out universal childcare—it starts November 1st. I hope we are a good case study. 🤞

I have no kids and I want universal free childcare. I also want livable wages and progressive taxation so that fewer adults needed to work to make ends meet, but there are many single parent households.

preach girl 🙌 we're investing in the wrong programs, that's because the people making the choices haven't touched reality in decades.

As an educator, I can tell you it will absolutely be more than 76 billion. As someone with a masters degree in child development, I can tell you no matter how much more it costs, it will be worth EVERY PENNY. As a citizen and human being, I can tell you it would be worth a thousand times more than anything ICE would have done with the money.

I used to tell my fourth graders that it was my job to take great big concepts and put it into kid words. We DO need to put these great big concepts into easy to understand "kid words". You are GREAT at this. I'm going to keep listening to this and try to bring your words down to a level for the Republican voter in a rural area.

Thank you for this! I already knew that ICE’s budget was massively overinflated, but it’s useful to put this absurdity into context of actually useful programs
