recently ridiculous amounts of salt seems to help. I'm talking I make Ramen, add garlic salt, melted butter, soy sauce, and parmesan. Sometimes some nutritional yeast or powdered yellow cheeze (like a Kraft knockoff). I also either melt in some American cheese or corn starch to chicken it up, because I tend to be too clumsy to get a liquidy soup base to my mouth with a spoon. For the same reason I pulverize the noodles.

I take a prescribed Imitrex and lay down in a cold dark room or sometimes just the cold bathtub. Sometimes I have to make myself throw up. And just try to sleep it out. Longest lasting migraine I had was 6 days it was awful. It also depends on what triggers the migraine

And there's got to be some common thread that would lead to actual treatments.

I need to consume a ton of caffeine, take my meds, and then go lay in a very specific configuration in the dark

I have tried a LOT of different things. What does help is a little wack. I get terrible cramps in my legs and feet at night. The cure for me is to drink pickle juice. It WORKS EVERYTIME! And, it works for my migraines as well.

Aura (has about 45 mins)> 2 Tylenol arthritis and 2 advil> get home now> chug water> do a quick chore cuz I’m guilty I won’t get anything done> nap> usually fine. If I skip any of it it’s 2 days of ick 😅

I put a heating pad on high on my low back, the softest loosest clothing I own, a HEAVY weighted blanket on my lap and an ice pack on the back of my neck. The hot cold combo works for me too.

When they’re severe, I need an ice pack and a blind fold (combo head sleeve is best). Windows closed. Fan on full blast. Headphones in but not playing anything. I need to be laying stiff as a board but on my left side, under three layers of blankets. I will get the chills and I will start to sweat and I do need to sleep for 3 hours. When I wake up I will crave sugar and wonder if I jumped dimensions.

Before my dog Bowser passed, he used to sense my migraines and climb up on my head to let me know one was coming. So the first step was to lay on the couch with a pitbull on my head. Now my routine is oddly specific in other ways, but mostly pretty mundane. The McDonald's fries/coke thing never works for me until the second or third day of the migraine and taking my prescription meds always seems dicey because sometimes it helps and sometimes it sends me into a cycle of vomiting on top of the migraine.

All the caffeine fizzy cold drinks, ice on my head, eye massage to knock out the little gremlins that hammer in there, entirely in the dark, peppermint smells and warm toes. In addition to the obvious pain meds

Migraines are the only time I want to be cold. A cold dark room, an epic nap, and a home workout, still in the dark. Usually yoga. Sometimes a dark hot shower.

I do the hot bath too but with peppermint oil. We call it boiling my skin off. Slam a mt dew( has to be this not just caffinee. Screwed when they finally outlaw it, never drink it any other time) take my ibuprofen and tylenol then crash in dark room. If i cant get to sleep it lasts days and im screwed. 😥
