We have about the same years if service and I am with you wholeheartedly on EVERYthing EXCEPT one... small group times, WELL PLANNED, are GOLD and INVALUABLE! SpEd co-teacher here, thats a hill I'll die on 🙌🏾

That’s a great expectation, but the problem is when schools keep promoting kids who haven’t mastered the basics. I’ve literally begged for some of my students not to move up because they weren’t ready, but they still got passed along. When a child can’t write their name or recognize letters in kindergarten, that gap just keeps growing every year. The system is setting them up to struggle, not the teachers in the next grade. (when you teach all children the same you privilege some and punish others)

AGREED on every single one!!! Heavy on the be able to work independently! They will not even try to think critically. If the answer doesn’t jump up and slap them in the face they “are confused and need help” I will alway help but dang I just want them to TRY at the bare minimum!🤦🏻♀
