@maddiegggg: Today was my last day working in the lab, and my heart is heavy. For the past four years, I’ve had the privilege of working as a phlebotomist right here in my hometown. What started as just a job quickly became so much more. My coworkers turned into lifelong friends, my boss became someone I truly look up to, and my patients became some of the biggest blessings in my life. The friendships I made inside that lab became family, and those hallways started to feel like home. This was my first job in healthcare—the place where I learned, grew, and truly discovered my passion for helping others. It’s where I learned what it means to be part of a team that shows up for each other on the hardest days and celebrates the best ones together. It’s where I met people who forever changed the way I see patient care and compassion. Leaving wasn’t an easy choice. I’ve shed tears over this decision because this job has been such a big part of my life for so long. But as I continue my journey through nursing school, I know this is the next step I need to take to grow and build the future I’ve been working so hard for. My schedule needs to change, but my heart will always stay connected to the people and memories I’ve made here. To my boss, coworkers, and patients — thank you for trusting me, supporting me, and making every day meaningful. You all played a part in shaping the nurse I’m becoming. I’ll never forget this chapter, and I’ll never stop being grateful for the time I had in that lab. Here’s to closing one chapter and starting the next. ❤️ Forever thankful.
