@tiktokart380: Artist and musician King Paris (@youngparis) reimagines ancestral African traditions within the language of contemporary painting and sculpture in GUARDIANS. Inspired by his father, the late Elombe Badila, and his heritage, Paris transforms ceremonial masks and sculptures into living symbols of memory, spirit, and transformation. Drawing from Yoruba carving traditions and the African forms that once inspired modernism’s greats, his works reclaim and romanticize the visual language of Africa—turning history into something vibrantly alive and profoundly present. GUARDIANS asks who holds memory, who preserves culture, and what it means to inherit a fragmented legacy in a world shaped by displacement and erasure, transforming its space into a site of reverence, resistance, and renewal.
