You’re conflating eye-level with viewfinder. I can be lying on my stomach and looking through the viewfinder and that would not be “eye level.”

the lion doesn't concern himself with looking like an idiot, the lion will do weird poses to get the right height with a DSLR

When taking street photos, shoot from the hip.. the subjects won't realise you are taking their photo, so you will get better candid results. Taking pics at eye level and the people in the scene will be conscious, and your results won't be as good 👍
