I moved to the US from China when I was in elementary school (5th grade). I lived with three different families/guardians until I was 18. My parents used to visit me here and there, but then COVID happened. After high school graduation, I started living on my own and worked two jobs while attending CSU. Now I’m 24, and this summer was my first time visiting my parents after 6 yrs of no contact. I’m telling you — it was the best trip I’ve ever taken in my 24 years of life. ❤
