I’m all for cool stunts, but the shutdown is a serious issue. There are people tagging rocks, littering, stealing artifacts, illegally offroading, etc, and there aren’t enough staff to enforce basic decency. Trash collection, restroom cleaning, and trail maintenance have been suspended too. I feel sorry for NPS workers. So many will have to quit a job they love to relocate so they can afford to survive. I really respect the work they do, especially if they’re working for free.
