@userdtl21112000: Cpl. Stephen Ballard was murdered on April 26, 2017. On that day, just after noon, Stephen conducted a suspicious vehicle check in a parking lot. During the check, a man named Burgon Sealy, who was in the passenger seat, exited the car after being asked for identification and starting shooting at Stephen. Stephen turned to run for cover, but Sealy continued to shoot him. When Stephen fell to the ground, Sealy repeatedly shot him at close range. He later died from his injuries at the hospital. Sealy jumped in his own vehicle, which had been parked the same lot, and raced home. He then told family members he had shot a trooper. His family called the police. Sealy barricaded himself inside his family's home and engaged in a 21-hour standoff with police, during which he fired at hundreds of officers. He eventually appeared about 9am on April 27, 2017 carrying a weapon after police used an armored vehicle to rip siding off the house. He was gunned down by police immediately, and fell dead on his front lawn, surrounded by pieces of ripped siding. His body was covered with a yellow sheet. Neighbors who had been terrified through the night by the sound of endless gunfire, cautiously emerged from their homes. Though the driver of the vehicle that Stephen was investigating had been arrested at the crime scene, he was not considered part of the plan to kill Stephen and was ultimately released. Stephen was an 8-year veteran with Delaware State Police. He left behind a wife and a 5-year-old stepdaughter named Abigail. He was 32 years old. #truecrimetiktok #truecrime #truecrimecommunity #truecrimetok
