For my dad’s funeral I wore a tee that said “raised by a great man with a big heart“ it was my way to reminding those in how dope my dad is and a way of honoring him.. it’s one of those decisions that can have you on a loop for a while.. have a safe flight.. and try to take care of yourself…

My Grampa is dying. Everyday the hospice team says “today is the day” and everyday he keeps fighting even though he can’t do anything anymore. He was our whole world. We are wearing baseball shirts for him when he goes. It is about what they would have loved and not what society tells you to wear. ❤

I’m so sorry. The people will be just glad to see you no matter what you wear or if your hair is good or whatever. Do you have a jacket or sweater in your friend’s favorite color? One of my work friends showed up to the visiting hour for my husband’s funeral in a flannel shirt and jeans- he was working from home. Like it was memorable but it made me smile and it meant a lot to me that he made the effort to be there.

idk if this helps but picking her fave color or something she complimented you on when you wore it might be a good way to honor her. i wore dark blue for my grandma’s funeral this yr. theres no “right” outfit, you’re trying your best 💞

wear their favorite color and wedges. for my husband's grandfather all the lady's had to wear a brightly colored dress, a fur, and the lip gloss had to be poppin. he loved ladies in lip gloss. they handed out his favorite Chanel lip gloss to all the women.

My grandma died this year. My mom had me wear a dress with flowers even though I felt like it was inappropriate. I see the dress in my closet and it hurts every time. I will be thinking of you.

I probably tried on 7 or 8 different outfits for when my grandma died. my sister did the same and joked with me that she probably would've appreciated that we were putting in our best effort. I went with what I thought she would like me to wear, so I ended up in a black dress and a white/gray shawl she'd complimented before. Just do what you can, that's how you honor her while also honoring your own grief
