that’s just somethings you’re gonna have to get used to, i live next to a funeral home and a church. Yeah it sucks when i come home from work and i don’t have a spot to park, but what am i gonna do ? stop people from praying/dying ?

I lived in Brentwood and graduated BHS in 09. Muslims were some of the kindest people i ever knew. My best friend in middle school was muslim and his mother was the sweetest woman inviting me for dinner all the time.

All I have to say is, take a look at Dearborn Michigan and parts of Minnesota. Starts slowly and next thing you know, wake up at 530am with the call to prayer on a loudspeaker

The mosque should have its own parking if they want to expand. They can't just place the burden on the neighborhood. Nobody wants to live in a parking lot.

Now I used to live around here and the traffic was wild from the amount of cars that were going to mosque. I support freedom of religion! I just hope they expand that parking space so it's not hazardous.

I live around there and this mosque does a community breakfast thing for free every Saturday or Sunday. Everyone and anyone is invited, no matter what background, faith, or color. Got breakfast from them a few times. Kindest people I’ve ever met.

I think the problem is jealousy of how strong the Muslim faith is. A mosque will never be empty on any day of the week. You’ll always hear elders, teenagers, children, all praying together 7 days a week, 5 times a day. That’s the problem. Instead of uplifting their own faith, they think they can go up by pushing Islam down. It’s sad really. They’re some of the best people. I wish us Christians could have community like them

That intersection is not busy at all. I purposely drive through that intersection to AVOID traffic. Makes no sense to me.

It literally takes entire police departments to manage traffic for megachurches across my state, clogging traffic so bad that people joke about preferring college game day traffic to Sunday traffic yet nobody is stopping them. Hmmmm I wonder what’s different here.

This mosque has been in Bethpage approx 20 years and there have been absolutely no issues, they’re respectful of the community and residents. The residents are using the “traffic” concern bc if they say why they really don’t want it then everyone will know they’re racist. The residents didn’t fight the deplorable parking lot for the Starbucks that causes a back up 2 blocks long right across the street from a school down the main street of the neighborhood Stewart Avenue and Hempstead Tpke.

Meanwhile has Long Island heard church bells in decades? I don’t blame neighbors for wanting less of this. The Muslims across the street from me are constantly having domestic disputes I feel terrible for the wives. This is really not the indoctrination we should be wasting money on🙄

come up with solutions to your road infrustracture, remove some red lights, roundabouts, narrower lanes, add a bike lane-growth is a win. use a different route or make different routes accessible to people to diversify traffic. and COMMUNITIES GROW AND HOME VALUES GROW. INDUSTRIES GROW WHEN PEOPLE HAVE CENTERS THAT BRING COMMUNITY TOGETHER. whatever culture or religion it is. thats just how it is.

They should expand the parking lot before they do anything to the actual mosque. You can’t create a bigger space for more people if you don’t address that
