EXCITEMENT AS GOVERNOR MUTFWANG AND CHIEF DAMAN UNITE THEIR CHILDREN IN HOLY MATRIMONY It was a magnificent celebration of love, unity, and divine grace as the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, and Chief (Amb.) Nanya Andrew Daman joined their beloved children, Anastasia Nanyah Andrew Daman and Timothy Manasseh Mutfwang, in holy matrimony. The solemn ceremony took place at the COCIN Headquarters Church, Jos, and attracted an array of dignitaries from across the nation, cutting across political, religious, and professional divides, a testimonial to the couple’s goodwill and the Governor’s broad appeal. Officiating the wedding, the President of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), Rev. Dr. Amos Musa Mohzo, described marriage as a divine institution ordained by God for companionship, procreation, and the establishment of godly homes. Rev. Mohzo emphasized that marriage transcends physical attraction, noting that its foundation must rest on emotional connection, mutual support, respect, and lifelong commitment. He urged the couple to build their union on virtues such as patience, forgiveness, sacrifice, and self-control, reminding them that “a home built on God’s word will stand firm against the storms of life.” In his sermon, the Anglican Bishop of Jos, Rt. Rev’d Dr. Ephraim J. Gongden, drawing from John 2:1–11, highlighted the miracle at the wedding in Cana of Galilee, stressing that the presence of Jesus in a marriage ensures joy and sustenance through life’s challenges. He advised the couple to be prepared for trials that may arise in the form of misunderstandings or external pressures but assured them that with faith in Christ, love will always triumph. In his remarks, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang expressed profound gratitude to the distinguished guests, particularly his brothers Governors and friends who graced the occasion from far and near. He thanked traditional rulers, members of the clergy, political leaders, and friends of the family for their show of love and sacrifice, wishing everyone safe journeys back to their destinations. The Chairman at the wedding reception at Langfield Events Centre, Jos, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, congratulated the newlyweds and their families, sharing personal reflections from his 28 years of marriage. He advised the couple to align their visions and communicate openly, stressing that “love is sustained not by perfection, but by understanding and forgiveness.” Governor Makinde also urged the parents to allow the young couple the freedom to make and learn from their own decisions, praying that God would guide them through the journey of marriage and bless all those waiting on Him for their own day of joy. Among the dignitaries present were Governors Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Ademola Adeleke (Osun), Mohammed Umar Bago (Niger), Agbu Kefas (Taraba), and Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa). Others included the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, as well as former Governors of Plateau State, Sen. Jonah David Jang, Sen. Joshua Chibi Dariye, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, and Sir Fidelis Tapgun. Also in attendance were the Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Ngo Josephine Piyo; the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State; former Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Dame Pauline Tallen; former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara; former Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom; Gen. Lawrence Onoja (rtd.); former Governor of Adamawa State, Boni Haruna; former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku; the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Daniel Naanlong, and members of the State and National Assemblies, alongside captains of industry and heads of financial institutions and wives of Governors present.
