I appreciate the thought that went into it, but even though they use "nicknames" and their real names are private, there are NPCs, like "Settler", that are capitalized. Lowercase diminishes a name, and even nicknames shouldn't be diminished, especially when they're given for a reason. A nickname should be given just as much respect as a real name, even if it doesn't have the same impact. IMO, the names should be capitalized and in quotes if they wanna show that it's not the real name.

In Ainu we don’t have exact grammatical rules and most of just use lowercase when writing/ typing.

I’ve never seen this game before, but when writing ainu itak with the latin alphabet, there is no capitalization. The language is still going through revitalization, so things can change, and some linguists will personally prefer to use capitalization for certain proper nouns to differentiate them from other nouns, but 9/10 times you won’t ever see capitalization in ainu itak.
