There is this strong insistence to say we are not Chinese or ethnic Chinese. This is wrong. Irregardless of our nationality we are ethnic Chinese and do not try to erase that link and roots. I understand SG government is trying to wipe this identity because of our pro west and pro US stance. The government believe having roots to China means they face resistance when SG stands with US in a military conflict against China. The bigger question is why are we so hung up with a declining hegemon?

she is merely representing the official (pap/gov) view. Cannot represrnt the avg Sg chinese pple's view. Can accept tt Sg is not a Chinese country but Sg Chinese pple forms a chinese community (社会) here as they are still chinese, even if the versn of chinese-ness is localised. No nobody can change the color of your skin, the chinese features, the culture, values, n practices passed down by our forbears.. 不是中国人,但是,是中华明族,不可否认.

我是新加坡人， 第4代。 虽然不是华侨但是是华裔。新加坡华人不管我们祖辈是不识字都有多过5000年文明， 文化传承，血缘基因的传承。 当我们拜祭祖先不只是父母祖父母辈而已， 是同文同种同祖先的思想。 不管政治家怎么说，除非已经信主或阿拉， 这传承是不会断裂的。新加坡华族文化版本是政治近两百年甚至是60年的述说而已的划分。

The next phase of this so called and much prided multi racial society of the 4 main races is Inter-Marriage to make a unique blend of Sgreanism in future generation. Each family lineage should have the 4 races in it. Then We r not just a multiracial society but truly unique SG DNA 🧬
