I think him touching Kizaru without haki is just like how he grabbed a holographic tree, maybe it’s cus of his gear 5 powers. But oda still needs to address it for fix the problem

It’s because luffys awakening allows him to turn his surroundings into rubber including people which nullifies kizaru’s logia powers

Armament haki is not always visible, if you go all the way back to Amazon Lily, you can see arrows imbued with haki but isnt black, same thing with Garp, most of the time you can see him punching luffy without his fist turning black.

in the kaido fight he states that luffy is coated in adv arm and conquerors the entire time, even though there are no indicators so I assume all the top tiers just always use it by this point

This is what I thought, Luffy can touch logia's without Armament in G5 . Cause just think about it , if he can touch lightning, which has no tangible form since it's electricity, why can't he touch Logia's .

well when haki got introduced it was said to be an invisible armor to begin with and oda is probably just showing the black coating when he wants haki to be the main focus of the fight like clashing of two characters or when a character is strengthening their haki

Oda just don't want to always be drawing Haki. if he properly drew it there wouldn't be a single panel where it wasn't heavily affecting the drawings. so your kinda just meant to assume their using Haki most of the time and it will only be drawn for dramatic effect. all Haki drawings are dramatic effect I believe because Oda said Haki actually isn't visble so technically putting us on same field with everyone else in the verse when not drawing it lol.

I wonder if it’s like a perspective thing like can’t non haki users not see haki? So many a lot of the time it’s not shown is it just supposed to be kinda implied in fights opponents are using their best haki ykwim? Like maybe Oda feels since he explained the concept the application might be like more obvious to him

Black lightning like energy is for conquerors haki. Black Flame is advanced armament. a lot of it is explained in the manga. I feel like observation haki is tge most inconsistent

I think with Luffys fruit being awakened I he might not actually need armament haki to touch a logia. Only thing that could actually make sense

My guess is that Oda is either making us assume when Haki is being used (like how in Dressrosa and Whole Cake where sometimes Haki would be invisible even when they’re using it), via guessing or paying attention, or the Gears are infused with Haki (besides gear 2 MAYBE)

The way I understand it, which is def just a head canon explanation, is that he constantly has a super low amnt of armament haki around him in fights which lets him interact with logia’s. Imo black lightning is just conq haki, like idk if it needs to be advanced.
