@zeenigami: Did you see the situation at Twitchcon this year with Emiru? How do you think Twitch would have handled things and what can be changed for future events? #TwitchCon #Twitchcon2025 #Emiru #Twitch #security
Remembering now that a couple of major female creators backed out of the event. I would not blame them if we lost like half of them for next year because they don’t feel safe going

how was it unavoidable. they refused to let her bring her own security. the guy also had a knife, is it to much to require a search of people before e they enter, or to even just walk them through a metal detector. the guy also rushed at her out of the line. more and better security would have stopped that straight away. this was entirely avoidable.

They definitely did not apprehend him fast enough, and they quite literally let him go. She was a**aulted in front of a lot of people. Security is there to prevent incidents from happening, if Twitch is providing the security, security needs to be adequate enough to deal with and prevent issues like this. This is completely on Twitch.

just get metaldetectors. bag checks and hire a security company and let them do their job. not like last time and this time

I saw the video happening and I was shocked. Parsocial relationships are real and can be dangerous, I just wish it was handeled better for any creator male OR female

It was 100% avoidable. Why was he allowed to go just walk up and skip the line. Not a single person or security stop him until after he assaulted her. This is completely on twitch.

I think it was entirely avoidable if twitch didn’t ban her personal security they would have been there to protect her. I’m not saying it wouldn’t have happened at all but it definitely would have minimized the chances for something like that to happen. It’s also not just that there were no consequences but how can twitch say they put “safety and creators first” but they ban creators security and don’t punish the people that made the security have to act in the first place.

it's not a security issue it's a culture issue: twitch is built on and continues to profit from the promotion of violent misogynistic men and their incel fans. until they change that, their events and platform will never be safe
