💯 I love that you’re emphasizing that *we don’t know how people will take it, even when we think we know them.* I know that I tend to overshare when I’m telling myself that I’m just being honest and “putting myself out there.” The problem is, no matter how earnest we are, not everyone around us is curious enough to seek clarity when they misunderstand us. They just make assumptions and, very often, there’s a backlash. Oversharing is like putting the cart before the horse, when it comes to building emotional trust and connection, I guess? So I really want to know how do I make close friends or maintain good communication with them without getting something like this away? I'm an extremely undersharer and it's kinda hard to have conversations with someone who wants to know stuff about me. I also have complicated relationship with trust, so I totally get why you are saying this. But do people create and maintain close and private relationships this way?
