I’m just curious, but you said the biggest reason why no animal can evolve to have more than four limbs is because of our common ancestor so what if an octopus or a squid,a creature with already multiple limbs, was to also then start walking on land and evolve, in that theoretical case if the ancestor had more than 4 limbs already could that mean that the evolution for the rest of the species has more than four limbs? Or do you think they would go the opposite way and they would lose limbs until they only had four limbs?
