When my husband said “ we lost the baby” instead of “she lost the baby” it was oddly comforting and heartbreaking. He wasn’t blaming me also grieving if that makes sense

We all grieve differently. For us men when we don't know what to do, especially for a situation like this when there is nothing we can do to make it better. We go do something that we like but also keeps us occupied. Because most of us men were never taught how to handle and understand our emotions, only to man up. Thank you for going with him! (I am so so sorry for your loss)

My exwife and I lost a pregnancy between our first and second children. I was absolutely devastated, but had to push it down to be strong for her. It was six months later before someone asked if I was ok. I don’t want to downplay the loss experienced by the mother in any way. But everyone forgets the father lost a son/daughter too.
