Grosse Isle is both an amazing and sad part of Quebec immigration history during the potato famine and well worth a visit. The Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré is about, 30 kilometres east of Quebec City, and one of the six national shrines of Canada.

From a resident, I would suggest the Musée de la civilisation to learn about the history, as well. Rue Saint-Jean is nice, too.

île d’Orléans is an all time fav - their orchards (and the ice wine they serve)… divine!!! Also love going up to Sainte Anne de Beaupré!
