Twitch has been really bad at handling security and safety issues and focusing too much about keeping the cash flow coming… Often the ones causing issues are Twitch partners with a lot of subscribers. I haven’t read all the news yet, but considering even the Twitch CEO was making fun of Twitch as a company, it does seem like Twitch is unable to act as adults when required by the circumstances. I would love to have 1-to-1 chat on stream with Twitch board members as there has to be people above the CEO.

Time for Twitch to make real changes in leadership. They keep making mistakes and never take accountability. She even said live that her manager had to step up because Twitch staff weren’t going to do anything. Imagine if she didn’t have her own security — this happened to one of the biggest streamers. What chance do smaller creators have?

It’s so scary because she could have easily been stabbed in the same amount of time. They don’t take the job seriously and being a female streamer at these events are dangerous as is. There are way too many mentally ill people out there. It’s way too common now. 😭 The fact that she’s desensitized to this stuff says a lot.

what happened to Emiru was absolutely awful and the fact twitch doesn't care is disgusting. she's there as a member of twitch. she's their employee and they have a duty of care to her! this could have been ALOT more dangerous for Emiru and the people attending and these concerns were brought up way before twitch con. they did nothing about these concerns and now someone was assaulted at their own event AGAIN. because this stuff has happened before. they need to stop hosting events until they learn how to run them safely
