Birth Preparation: PELVIC FLOOR Now that I have entered my third trimester I have prioritized these movements over weight training. I still do both, but my focus is on learning how to strengthen and relax my pelvic floor. I want to be as connected to my pelvic floor as possible during labor. Doing so will help contractions be more effective and can help prevent perennial tearing. Women always think KEGALS and yes even though those are great we miss the importance of learning to relax the pelvic floor muscles. Each Exercise can be done for 30-60 secs 1. Cat Cows with one side elevated 2. Cat Cows 3. Knee Drops 4. Butterfly Rocks 5. Child Pose Rock Back 6. Internal Knee Drops Extra: I added 2 inner core movements at the end. 1. Standing Marches 2. Seatbelts But of course, please make sure you consult your care provider before starting anything new.
