Typical course greenskeeper BS cutting the hole 3 feet from the edge of the green, trying to save wear on the green. USGA guidelines require 10 to 14 feet from the edge of the green, unfortunately many public courses thumb their nose at this in order to “save money“ to try to preserve the quality of the greens.

Played on a course in Laverne, Ca that the greens were like this. To get on the greens in regulation n then 4 putt is ridiculous
