I stayed in Swananoa, NC a couple of years ago for my birthday. Each night I took my dog out to potty. At night, the mountain became deathly quiet and I could not shake the feeling that something was watching us. On night 3 I began hearing unfamiliar noises while standing out there with my dog. On night 4 I heard the noises again only louder. It made feel like whatever might’ve been watching me was moving a little closer each night. I’m thankful that night was our last and we never encountered what might’ve been lurking in the dark.
