Learning be a good copycat will give you the the skills to analyze and recreate. Once you've got that, you'll naturally want to add your own twist to it & will drop the elements you're less fond of.

i bought this book from a book fair as a kid and a lot of what it taught became like a FOUNDATIONAL part of my style. like i still do things the way this book did on some level. this one and mastering manga by mark crilley

my main issue is wanting to draw something unique but i cant create images in my head to go off of. if i doing a semi 1:1 recreation of another art or object in life i can do decentish at it but soon try be original its like everything i learned bout shading and shapes dissapear
