@stradafamily: Monday fit drip check with grandma 🤪 ✔️ Dementia is hard on everyone. Mainly her & I, she struggles to do her normal. I struggle to make sense of the unsensible. While not trying to upset her. There’s so much advice on how to handle dementia. I’ve read the books, listened to the podcasts. In the beginning I cried a lot. My mom has a masters degree in psychology. She’s as brilliant as a mind came. To watch her deteriorate into a child like state will never be easy. But it is OK. I’ve made peace with life being anything different and understand our challenges prepare us. I don’t know why this is part of my/our story but I can tell you we have learned to just laugh through the sadness. The craziness, the chaos, the illogical. One day when we are much older I know my children & I will tell stories of this time. “Remember when grandma…” and it will make us laugh until our bellies hurt. ❤️🙌🏽 #dementia #dementiaawareness #dementiacare #dementiacaregiver #dementiaaawareness
