💯 always complaints about fireworks during Diwali but never on new years day. even in Indian areas everyone had to do the lord's prayer in schools 😆. I was raised Christian and told my ancestry was demonic hey. decolonising so late in life

I’m a South African Indian … 62years old , as far as I can remember we Indians celebrated Diwali with fireworks….! & we enjoyed our celebrations without any interference….!

yes permits were rejected if you did not have a proper place to sell the fireworks not for celebrating ask me i was born in 1957 so I should know better.

The oppression continues especially in so called "white neighbourhoods". Complaints occur on an annual basis...only on Diwali.

we had Diwali as a public holiday. where you getting your information from. I grew up ans we celebrated Diwali, two days was set aside for Diwali. the white government recognized Diwali more than this current government

I tell all my kids that I wish I grew up now because now we can openly practice and celebrate our lifestyle and beliefs. We don’t push our religion on others, we just do our own thing ❤
