This is a great discussion. To get a full picture, would you ever consider featuring an expert who represents the other side of the argum

Did we not all know this for years though…. You can’t take anything while pregnant and truly shouldn’t unless yes you’re literally in fever, infection, absolute worst case scenario…. Like your not supposed to eat soft cheese and deli meats but we thought medication was okay 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀

A lady told her story about avoiding Tylenol when she was pregnant with a fever. She ended up miscarrying and it more than likely was because of how high her fever got. Bottom line, take medical advice from doctors!

I had four children. I never took anything without calling my OB and I only took Tylenol once with my second child and I wound up having the worst case of strep throat when I finally went to the doctor put me on antibiotics. Just check with your doctor. don’t take anything without your OB’s recommendation.

Take this with a grain of salt, her information isnt all correct—They don’t recommend Motrin, not because of platelets but because it interferes with the closing of certain heart valves after delivery…..

I had my babies in ‘04 and ‘06 and I had a co worker that was also pregnant and dealt with bad migraines. I remember her Dr was ok with Tylenol, but exactly what your guest is saying. Her Dr was like - I’d rather have you have a coke with caffeine to help your headaches if you can manage it with one caffeine a day - but if you have a fever - take Tylenol. So it’s not like moms were downing Tylenol the last 20+ yrs. We were taking it - as needed only.

Ibuprofen and actually all NSAIDs are dangerous in pregnancy. Not only because of platelets but because they can significantly affect the baby's kidneys and heart.

Mehhh. Yes it’s her recommendation for fever is great but her explanation for use overall kinda sucks.

I have migraines that last up to 3 days and during pregnancy I could only take Tylenol. And you know what it doesn’t even help. It barely took an edge off so I can be somewhat functional. But without it I’d be suffering the entire pregnancy

My daughter is almost 7. When I was pregnant, if I had a bad migraine, I was told Tylenol. Of course sparingly. I didn’t want to take ANYTHING or even have caffeine. But talking to my dr helped ease some fears.

“Considered the safest” does not mean it is 100% safe. It’s just the BEST or LEAST harmful of the options available.

We weren’t taught this. And I went through the worst flu I had ever been through…completely on my own. I had older parents and was not about to put them at risk, so I didn’t even tell them. My husband was out to sea. I was pregnant and didn’t even know it yet. But I couldn’t lift my head off the pillow. I absolutely couldn’t get to a doctor. I couldn’t get out of bed to get meds. lol But baby and I made it. ❤

Love how Harrison had to come in and mansplain it to us despite the doctor’s clear and simple answer.
