okay before i say this let me say i'm not saying this to criticize you or your post, simply to share my thoughts !! to me this sounds like domestic abuse and social isolation (being isolated from family & friends by your abuser), so the victim might end up coming to the internet to seek a safe space. now, victims usually defend their abusers endlessly because they either know when people call their abuser out that they are going to deal with the consequences behind closed doors, or they're THAT manipulated they think everything their abuser does is "good for them". now i have no idea if all of these people ur referencing are being abused but the statistics are approx. over 1 in 3 women in the united states (35.6%) and 1 in 4 men in the united states (28.5%) have experienced domestic abuse at least once in their life, and that's without the cases that go unreported!!! also, when someone in an abusive relationship like this doesn't want to leave, it's because their abuser has manipulated them to believe that nobody would accept them but their abuser, and so they feel simultaneously trapped and safe. another really really important thing to note: the average amount of times a victim of domestic abuse leaves and comes back before they're able to fully escape is 7. so when you see these victims leaving and going back repeatedly, it's because their abuser has genuinely made them believe they can't live without their abuser (whether this be physically, emotionally, or financially). it's almost like they are conditioned to be addicted to their abuser. when victims go back repeatedly, it makes people annoyed or angry (because why not "Just Leave" if they're doing all of this?)which leads to even more people giving up on them. abusers also use stuff like children & cleaning to exhaust their victim to no end, because if they're always exhausted and always cleaning and always taking care of the kids, how will they have a personal life or be able to leave, ever? i left some stuff out but i really reccomend looking into how these relationships come to be, and the more you know about these abusers & their tactics the less susceptible you are to them. hope this makes sense
