I always the thought the gameplay was great, I think a lot of people confuse gameplay with controls, having to mash x over and over and over is absolutely absurd

The issue that makes it have bad gameplay for me is mainly the mission design. RDR2 doesn't feel immersive at all for me, because it feels like I'm a actor on a set instead of actually being in the world. You have to follow the script exactly or the director say cut and redo

Rockstar be like “yeah just make every mission start out with you at a location riding a horse or driving a car to some other location while listening to npcs talk, then a short shooting gallery with auto aim that shoots for you then ride the horse somewhere else while listening to npcs talk again”

the gunplay is so bad compared to other games, also its too slow for its own good, tries too much to be a realistic sim that it forgets the whole point of a game is that its a form of escapism. also they way u are explaining it is way more “epic” then it actually is

Gunplay and gunfight mechanics can have so much diversity and complexity if you are capable of learning how to fully maximize it. Most don’t unfortunately.

It has pretty good open world gameplay, but the mission design is pretty terrible. So are the controls. The shooting and gunplay isnt that good, especially compared to GTA 4 and even RDR1 especially. But the exploration and details make up for it, at least on a first playthrough. Thats my take. If the open world sucked, itd be not a very good game.

greatest story greatest open world greatest scenery one of the best non ray traced graphics overall gameplay the stuff you can do is fun at first then become tedious I would say it's fun but it gets a bit boring that's why I could only get to 93% overall completition

All of that context and doing the actions of all those said subjects is very shallow and can repetitive very fast. I think RDR2 is good but I stand by the gameplay getting stale fast

it’s ight. definitely not as good as people say. people act like the gameplay flow is incredibly deep or something while everything is incredibly tedious to do. gameplay wise, the only influence rdr2 will have will be the idea that sometimes less is more. we don’t need to see arthur loot bodies and skin animals realistically
