“made in china” as a label in reference to quality has mostly been about the part of the market that mass produces bad quality products. although I do agree that it shouldn’t be like this, labels and everything is always nuanced

The point is for the same quality it should be cheaper… not that it should be cheap. Not including the labour, just logistics , the company already has a much lower cost! Songmont is priced the same as polene… I do think they are comparable so why isit not cheaper?

i’m glad to see more and more asian brands on the international stage now. for ages it bugged me that asian products, even if they are better quality, are always seen as inferior to western brands (asian as umbrella term because southeast asians and south asians are also facing the same problem)

I think people need to seperate «made in china» cheap things vs «made in China» handcrafted or designed and bought locally in China. I wouldn’t expect Temu to have quality stuff but if I was in China and went to a local store that sells handcrafted bags or items I for sure would love to get an unique thing to bring back home

Because most of the materials are sourced locally, the price should not be too high. In addition, taking into consideration the overcapacity volume & economies of scales, most Chinese made products are cheaper compared to other countries.
