from a person on ebt, I'm legitimately not sure how my family will afford food past the next few weeks. we're working with rice and beans, and all of the food banks in the area are inaccessible to me. only eating a meal or less so that we have food left when the money runs out

idk how other states do it but in MO they distribute snap based on *the letter your last name starts with*, so you can get approved on the 1st and have to wait until the 22nd to buy food

the politicians dont care this doesn’t effect their pockets and then the people that don’t get it are mad at the people that do receive it. It’s a vicious cycle and the ones that need it the most are going without it, and the kids are gonna suffer the most!

The amount of food stamps that you get is just a supplement. The food stamps they give is not supposed to be for the full month. It was never intended to last the full month.

I finally got a job and planned to re-apply for food stamps. I was unemployed for a long time. The BBB ensured my SNAP got cut off a couple months ago because I wasn’t working (not able to find work in the current market). Now I can’t even get food stamps. I’ve been hungry for so long. They are starving their citizens.

It’s even worse if you (or someone in your family) have severe allergies. I can’t just pull up to a food bank and get food that is gluten, dairy, soy, corn, rice, potato, and apple free because it’s already and impossible task for me to find food myself let alone a place that runs on donations that include all my allergies

yeah this is my family with food stamps. we do save money on it but we also have had low amounts of money at some points. we were lucky to have someone working and for me to about to start working too soon to help with money
