@113mckinley: This live version of "Breakdown" is featured on the album Pack Up the Plantation: Live! by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. This performance was recorded at The Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles in August 1985. The song is notable because, after Tom Petty sings the opening line, the entire audience spontaneously takes over and sings the remainder of the first verse and the entire first chorus with such powerful volume that it's clearly captured by the microphones. After the crowd's prolonged sing-along, Petty's characteristic response is heard, where he playfully jokes, "You're gonna put me out of a job," to a huge, roaring wave of applause before he and the band take the song back to finish the performance. The track was a highlight of the 1985 live album, showcasing the deep connection between the band and their audience.
