@fitnesswithfazila: A few weeks ago, I started adding white pepper to my cooking. I’d read somewhere that it’s gentler on digestion. But subhanAllah, within days I was having constant heartburn, sleeping propped up on pillows, and one night I even woke up with bile rising up. 😣 That’s when I realised, even the smallest changes in our food can affect us so differently, especially in menopause. Our digestion slows down, hormones shift, and what worked before might suddenly trigger reflux or bloating. For me, white pepper, full cream milk, fruit juice, pastries, bread and strong coffee (strength 10!) are the worst culprits. But everyone’s list is unique. 💛 Keeping a simple food diary has helped me so much, tracking what I eat, when the reflux happens, and how my body feels.
