Explanation: Mikoshi Chiyo had an adopted son named Mikoshi Nagamasa. Nagamasa lived in Tatarasuna as the Inspector and had a personal retainer named Katsuragi. Katsuragi was the one who found Wanderer (Kabukimono at the time) and introduced him to people, such as Nagamasa, and Niwa (Niwa is the Armory Officer of Tatarasuna, the heir to the Niwa clan, and the “Second betrayal” of Kabukimono/ Kabukimono’s best friend. He’s important, his first name is Hisahide btw). Nagamasa was on good terms with Kabukimono, and the night that Dottore sabotaged the Mikage Furnace and killed Niwa Hisahide, Nagamasa started a search party for Niwa after he went missing. They arrived at the Mikage furnace and Nagamasa started hallucinating a taunting figure who was mocking Niwa. Nagamasa had great respect for Niwa and tried to slay the figure, but Katsuragi saved Nagamasa’s life because Nagamasa didn’t realize he was about to fall into the blazing furnace. Long story short, Nagamasa killed Katsuragi for reasons unknown, but explained in another part of the lore. Without Niwa, Nagamasa would’ve been held responsible for the events of the furnace (Niwa was missing and never found, so fault would go to the next guilty). To prevent Nagamasa from being held guilty, Katsuragi took the blame on himself and made Nagamasa kill him so that Nagamasa wouldn’t be held guilty, and by killing Katsuragi, Nagamasa would then be revered as the solver of the issue instead of the one at fault. Katsuragi let Nagamasa kill him due to his undying loyalty to Nagamasa, being his retainer (which means servant), but also being his friend. It’s a tragic story, and Tatarasuna more is my favorite in the entire game.
