I had a female Kobus who will schedule a meeting for 8 pm to to scold us ,we will be calling clients after hours and when they dont answer teams you must call on WhatsApp or straight call ,you would evn work on holidays😭😭😭

And when you fall sick coz of mental fatigue or Kidz being sick they don’t care they will promote someone else coz you have a life outside the company just to abuse that person, one colleague of mine died coz of heart issues due to work the day he died they promoted someone else and called his (deceased )wife to come Saturday to fetch his personal belongings

I'm on Kobus' side. I used to schedule emaila for 4AM, answer calls at 10PM, go to meetings at 7PM. A few people noticed and they started passing me opportunities because of that. have been at a few senior's residences and pulled off all nighters, they've now become part of my network. but flipside it doesn't make you less competent for having boundaries or that you won't hit KPIs. however corporate is a visibility and political game, not a competency based game.
